I would definitely stay here again, great place! I had a lovely tent site, buried in the woods, totally private, with great views! There is a nice pool, a great gift shop/snacks, etc., bounce house playground, lots of great hiking, and the staff is awesome! It's like a theme park, lots of fun little Yogi Bear interactive displays, kids would love it, & also over grown kids like me. ;)
I will NOT come back for any reason!!!!!! NO STARS BUT HAD TO CHOOSE 1 TO POST. First getting a cabin reserved was a task. I was directed to 3 different websites, non of which showed pictures of the inside of cabins, lodges, yurts, tipis, or anything on the campground. If it wasn't for the family in our area, I probably would not have stayed the entire time. At check in I was given a key, nothing else, I was given a schedule of events/activities or information, the a ranger took us to our cabin. The first activity we went to NO ONE showed up including the staff. The staff is less than excited about their guests, especially kids. After answering multiple questions about my status in the park, I was able to get into the "secured" bathroom for some toilet paper to blow a 4 year old''s nose.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were on the road with our travel trailer and rolled in right at closing time. We just needed a place to get off the road and sleep and didn't want to hit a rest area or parking lot. They were closing out the registers when I walked in. They kindly had me fill out an after hours check in form and led us to our spot. Fairly pricey for a no hook up spot, but at that point I really didn't care and thought it was very nice that they let us have ANY spot at that time of night. Be aware this is right next to the train tracks.
The bath house in our group of cabins it had only 1 side working for 9 kids, and 7 adults that needed share it. 1 toilet and 1 shower that didn't drain. They offer complimentary coffee to guests but once the pot was empty none of the 5 people in the ranger station made more.
There are fun activities, unless they are cancelled. They mess up reservations & can't return an email, return a voicemail or electronically confirm your reservation. Had to trust that I could go because they charged my card... They advertise activities on their website that they don't have any more (they took out the frisbee golf course, for example) & the pool was closed when they said it was open online... They offer golf carts to guests to rent so they can get around (parking for vehicles is only at Somme of the locations) but they charge $45/day for that. Many of their activities have additional fees.
Very nice place to take kids. A lot of kid friendly activities. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms and whole camp was clean and we'll maintained.
No Thank You....
